中英对译中的“中英对译中的“不可译现象”
摘要：虽然不同的国家有着不同的语言，但这些语言可以相互翻译。诚然，人与人之间存在着巨大的和谐。语言是一种有效的交际工具。然而，由于文化、习俗、宗教、地理等因素的影响，汉英对译仍然存在不可译现象。在汉英翻译中，更多地了解不可译性是十分必要的。

“Untranslatability” in Chinese-English translation
Abstract: Although different nations have different languages. These languages can be translated into each other. To be sure, great harmony exists among men. Language is an effective instrument for communication. However, untranslatability still exists in Chinese-English translation due to culture, custom, religion, geographical and other factor. It's rather necessary to learn more about untranslatability in Chinese-English translation.

1Introduction
With the promotion of the globalization of the world, the barriers to English-Chinese translation have been gradually reduced. However, due to the influence of the culture, customs, religious, regional, and such factors in English-Chinese translation, sometimes it will still appear the phenomenon that the original language or source language is unable to translate into target language and the target language. They call the phenomenon “untranslatability”. The untranslatability phenomenon is causing more and more inconvenience to our life, such as reading other countries’ books. On account of the existence of "untranslatability", translators cannot fully transform the interesting connotation of the reading materials to readers. What is more, the meaning of books from other countries cannot be understood clearly and completely. Another example, on many occasions in today's society, such as foreign trade activities, to a certain extent, the phenomenon of untranslatability is likely to lead to the lossing of meaning. In the present moment, it is particularly important to transform "untranslatable" into "translatable". In order to regulate the untranslatability phenomenon, the writer has done some research on it. J.c. Catford, a famous English translation theorist, believes that because of the heterogeneity between languages, the translation of absolute equivalence is impossible. And there is always some feasible limit. On the whole, there are two kinds of untranslatable phenomena. It includes "linguistic untranslatability" and "cultural untranslatability". Because of the differences between the two languages, the writer calls them "language untranslatable". And because of the differences between cultures, the writer calls them "culture untranslatable". In the next moment, it is going to analyze the phenomena of non-translatable from two aspects.
