公共标志翻译原则及翻译误区
摘要：随着全球化的发展，中国国际地位逐渐提升，我们会在很多公共场合看到双语公共标志。标志是人类直观联系的特殊方式，也是传达信息的重要途径，它在社会活动和生产活动中无处不在。而公共标志它的意义和价值不同于企业标志，它能方便人们的出行和交流并且存在于生活的各个角落。但如今，公共标志的翻译存在一定的问题，无论是商场、景区还是学校等的公共标志翻译都能找出相应的毛病。这就给外国友人带来很多不必要的麻烦，并且违背了公共标志本身的意义和价值。因此，该论文的目的就是通过浅析公共标志的翻译原则及翻译误区，从而对翻译误区提出相应的解决方案，避免公共标志翻译出现不必要的错误。让公共标志在外国友人身上起到它本该有的意义和价值。

A Study of Translating and Misunderstanding of Public Signs
Abstract: With the development of globalization, China's international status is gradually rising. We will see bilingual public signs in many public places. Signs are a special way of human visual connection and an important way to convey information. It is social activities and production activities anywhere. However, the meaning and value of public signs are different from that of enterprise signs, which can facilitate people's travel and communication and exist in every corner of life. But now, there are some problems in the translation of public signs, whether it is shopping malls, scenic spots or schools, etc., the translation of public signs can find the corresponding problems. It takes a lot of unnecessary trouble to foreign friends and violates the meaning and value of public signs. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the translation principles and translation errors of public signs, so as to put forward corresponding solutions to translation errors and avoid unnecessary errors in the translation of public signs. Let the public signs on foreign friends should have the meaning and value.

一、选题简介、意义
With the development of globalization and the promotion of China’s international status. Many signs in public places are translated into English and Chinese. For example, theme parks, shopping malls, road signs, libraries and tourist attractions... As a special text, the accuracy and the purpose of communicative are clear. However, there are many problems in the translation of public signs. In the view of all, this paper discusses the translation principles and analyzes the misunderstanding. It is especially important to solve the problem of translating the public signs, promoting cultural cooperation and exchange between China and foreign countries.

This thesis focuses on translating and misunderstanding of public signs. It mainly focuses on solving the problems caused by the misunderstanding of translation of signs and the principles and points of attention for translating public signs. The thesis in detail analyses the causes of the existence of the misunderstand the public signs in many aspects and then puts forward solutions and strategies to avoid unnecessary trouble and reduce the chances of occurrence of misunderstanding. And it puts forward the principle of paying attention to the translation of pubic signs.
Research approach:
1. Choose an appropriate topic.
2. Collect relative data on the Internet, in the library and from the books I have studied.
3. Keep in touch with the instructor during the writing process and polish the drafts.
